Around the Horn – Slow Starts
April 6th, 2011 | by Ray Flowers |Should you panic because your guys are off to a slow start? History says that players that really struggle early on can still be effective options over the course of the season. I’ll go through some of the slow starters in 2010 – guys like Mark Teixeira and Justin Verlander – and hopefully show you that remaining patient is often the prudent move.

Would you be worried about Kennedy going up against Cincy this Friday?
Also, I have a trade question: I’d get Choo and D. Young and give up Cahill, Kubel and Cuddyer. My other OF are Pence, Ethier, Hart (on DL), Tabata. Start 5.
My pitching staff is solid. What do you think?
By Ray Flowers on Apr 6, 2011
Rob – Choo is an elite option, period. Delmon Young isn’t, but there aren’t many OFs who you know will hit at least .280 with 80 RBI. He’s solid.
Young is at least as good as Kubel. Cuddyer is nice cause he plays 2 spots, but .270-20-75 is easy to find. Cahill is solid, but I’ve written many times how I think he will regress this year.
Do the deal.
