Ray, how long have you been participating in the daily fantasy leagues? Have you had success like in the yearly leagues? I have tried them and found them to be a total crap shoot. I like the weekly football, but not daily baseball. I feel my strength in fantasy sports is finding value, and that is not of much use in daily games. It’s all about picking the front runners. I feel you are really good at spotting break outs and regressions and that is why I have been reading you since the rototimes days. I’m just wondering how you go about playing the daily games.

I did actually start a game due to this fact, and it’s called The All American Home Run Derby (http://allamericanfantasy.com) and it’s a 10 day, head to head contest with teams of 5 players. Most home runs wins. I have found this to be a little more predictable and still a fast turnaround.

Jon – Sly way to get an add to your own league in there. I’ll allow it. lol

The daily setups are tough. I know that Miguel Cabrera is gonna hit .300-30-100 this year, he does it every year. Of course, I have no idea when he will hit a homer or knock in a run. I also have no way of knowing the two weeks when he will hit .490 or the two weeks when he will hit .190, so predicting one day events is very tricky.

It’s almost the same as betting on sports. If you bet the same amount on the Yankees everyday, you won’t come out ahead. I think that’s probably the case with picking Miguel Cabrera everyday.

I’m a huge Indians fan, and was wondering what you think about Lonnie Chisenhall.

Mark - “Keeper league Kemp or J Upton. 5x with On base and total bases”

Both are young an elite level talents – really can’t go wrong with either guy. I’d say go with Kemp. His OBP is likely to be lower than Upton’s, but the extra steals should make up for that.

ray: Complicated question: in my 6×6 h2h league, my closers are madson, marmol and Street. My starting SS is Rollins, and IF is Hardy. I’ve been offered papelbon for Rollins, which I’d like to do cause I don’t trust this whole Madson/hand situation. However, I don’t trust hardy to be my SS rest of the year. So, I’ve also been offered Castro and Aramis for Hardy and Youk. Obviously, I’m willing to move castro in for Rollins as my ros SS. Should I do these two deals?

Joel – Papelbon for Rollins is a fair deal. JP has pitched well despite the lack of saves and higher than normal ERA. I can’t envision the RedSox moving him either. He’s their closer. Rollins is a solid SS, but I agree with you, I dont trust the Madson PHI situation.

I have concerns about depending on Hardy as well, not to mention that he has nowhere to go but down after his massive June.

“’I’ve also been offered Castro and Aramis for Hardy and Youk.”

Aramis is finally coming around, but he is no Youkils. Castro has been strong/steady, but little pop and not as much speed as you would think.

I’d do first deal and then pass on second one.
