    Hi Ray,

Is Vance Worley worth an add in a 10 team mix?

He seems to be pitching great right now but as he starts to face teams 2 or 3 times do you think he’ll begin to get hit around?

Which side of this trade offer do you prefer?

Pujols, Nathan, Chacin and Hosmer for
Freeman, Beckett, Brett Lawrie and Belt

    Thanks.

SF – Worley has been great, but can’t keep it up. Just doesn’t have the skills. K/9 below avg, bb/9 worse than average. His HR/9 rate is under 0.3, can’t keep that up, not even close.

All of that says he has no chance to keep this up.

I can’t say not to use him, but I wouldn’t be counting on him.

    Jemile Weeks or Jason Kipnis?

Freeman, Beckett, Brett Lawrie and Belt

I assume this isn’t a keeper league since you didn’t say it was.

That being the case, you have to take the first group. Belt isn’t locked into daily playing time, an d Lawrie could still be weeks away from the majors.

Thanks Ray…i agree and once worley starts facing teams the second time around bad things might happen.

I was offered Weaver and Kipnis for Andrus, Chacin and Madson. Any thoughts? (And you really should watch The Wire on DVD. It’s excellent)

What the outlook on Adam Wainwright for next year? Is he worthy on a keeper position in a 12 league (10 keepers)? Or would Jurrjens or
    Scherzer be a safer bet.

Longoria is nursing an injury in his leg. Would you be worried he gets shut down early this year? Are you scared this injury could hurt him significantly in future years. Would you be scared if you owned him in a keeper league?

Do you think Hosmer has Bruan/Votto/Morneau upside in a few years?

I need ERA, WHIP, K’s – my staff is Pineda, Hellickson, Gallardo, Cueto, Scherzer. I am scared of both Pineda and Hellickson inning limits so thinking of offering Hellickson, Kendrick, Hosmer for Hamels, Casilla, Snider…good move?

    Hi Ray

14 team, mixed 6×6 league with OPS…who would you rather have ROTW?
    * util spot, so position doesn’t matter…looking for all around stats

    Jason Bay
    Dexter Fowler
    Will Venable
    Andres Torres
    Vladimir Guerrero

    Thx as always

    Hey Ray,

I was just wondering your opinion on two players.
I recently got Melky Cabrera and Mark Trumbo on my team thru trade and free agency, respectively. What do you think about these players? Can they keep up their numbers the rest of the way? I think Melky is real interesting becuase before I got him I didn’t realize how young he was as it seemed like he’s been playing forever, all those years with the Yankees. Now he’s putting up great 5 cat numbers. Is he just coming into his own? And Trumbo, will he hit a wall soon?

Nick – Weaver and Kipnis for Andrus, Chacin and Madson

My lady friend things The Wire is one of the best shows ever.

Chacin having trouble throwing strikes. Madson may/may not close. Team could deal for Bell, or they may even leave Bastardo in the role according to latest reports.

Personally, I’d do the deal. I can see avoiding it, but two of the players you’d be giving up likely wont offer as much as they did earlier in the year.

El Burro – None of these guys excite. Vlad hurt. Torres just cant get going. Venable, nice speed but poor avg. Fowler, hot, and likely to get a lot of PT if CarGo is out. Bay, injured and so-so.

I’d add Folwer. Not a huge help in OPS, but the best bet right now from this group.

    Ray:

In my 6×6 h2h league, I just traded Prado and Feliz for Matt cain and Madson (Zobrist is my 2B and Feliz was my 4th closer). So, losing Prado, I need to fill my IF position. Ackley, Jemille Weeks and jason Bartlett are on the wire. My team has been sorely lacking in steals the past few weeks. Which 2 of those 3 should I take?

I guess I need to take Ackley, right? which of the other two for steals?

    Thx, ray. Appreciate it.

I WILL BE TRAVELING BACK EAST TO WASHINGTON DC. I’LL LIKELY BE OUT OF THE OFFICE UNTIL MONDAY. I’LL GET TO YOUR QUESTIONS WHEN I HAVE THE TIME.

Is Tommy Hanson and Michael Morse enough in return for Lincecum and Delmon Young. (I have Lincecum and was trying to get Votto. This was the counter.)

  19. By Ray Flowers on Jul 24, 2011

Paul - Tommy Hanson and Michael Morse enough in return for Lincecum and Delmon Young

Hanson isn’t that far behind Lincecum. Obviously less strikeouts, but wins and ratios are very close. Lincecum has higher WHIP, but lower ERA actually.

Morse clearly is a better option that Delmon.

I would not propose this deal if I was you.
