Love the work Ray. Which side would you prefer in a H2H 8×8 league? Count BB (pitcher and hitter), XBH, 1B, CG, k/9. Swisher/J Parker or Plouffe/Ian Kennedy. Have Espinosa starting at 2B right now and Jed Lowrie at SS. Should I try it for Jed instead of Swisher first?
By Ray Flowers on Jul 11, 2012
Xavier -Swisher gets more walks than Plouffe. Parker walks more than Kennedy. This is a fair deal. One side has the safer hitter, the other the safer pitcher. I’d take the Kennedy side of things, but it’s close. I’d rather have Swisher than Lowrie who is hitting .177 over his last 79 at-bats. I still can’t figure out why no one listens to me when it comes to Lowrie.

Evening Ray – So I’m trying to poach a closer from a team in need of SP and he’s offering Putz. First of all – any concern for him 2nd half? Some trade winds but my gut tells me he’s not going anywhere. As for the trade, I think I can give either Kuroda or Kennedy to get Putz. It’s a 10-teamer so pitching is pretty available. You’ve got the two quite a ways apart in 2nd half ranks, but Kuroda’s got the better win potential and has been a fair bit better to date. Do the deal for either or just Kuroda? thanks as ever for your dedication and good luck in the 2nd half!

Jon – Putz should be fine. Been very impressive of late, and his skills are still borderline elite. I’d prefer to give Kuroda. If you can do that, I’d pull the trigger.

Thought you might find this interesting, Ray.
PAX!

JDW – I’d bet that Lincecum doesn’t end up with that dubious record, but it does support the contention that he has been flat out awful this year. Pretty amazing.
