Ray – Napoli is sitting on waivers in a 5×5 12 team league. I have Big Papi, Arod on the DL. Would you drop either for Napoli who would ultimately take the place of Chris Carter?
By Morgan on Aug 22, 2012
Hey Ray,
I have alot of guys coming off the DL soon and will be needing to drop players. ROS regardless of position can you rank alexei ramirez, bonifacio, carlos lee, zobrist, allen craig, lawrie, and choo.

Ray – time to drop Bonifacio in 10-team? I gotta replace him (had him at 2B) with either 2B/SS but I also got my eye on Maybin whom you mention above. We do count OPS but hitting counting cats are most guy. Help me pick one from
Each group (a 2b/ss and a 5th OF) Rutledge, KJ, Peralta, Aviles and then Maybin, L Cain, C Ross? 10-tm and I’m in the hunt! Thanks

Mark – You could dump Arod, he’s likely further away than Papi. Especially a good move to add Napoli if you start 2 C’s. Would be huge add then.

Morgan – Boni hurt. Lawrie hurt too.
Zobrist, Craig, Choo, Lee

Jon – You certainly can think of dropping Bonifacio. Hurt again, gives you nothing in HR/RBI anyway. Aviles and Ross. Don’t love either though.

Ray, Is C.J. Wilson going to bomb this next start against the red sox and the rest of the season and I have brandon morrow coming off the dl sat, should I drop Milone, Wilson,Hudson, or Villanueva? What do you suggest?

What are your expectations of Jermaine Gresham this season? I am hearing many people say he could be one of those guys that vaults into being one of the top TE’s. You seem to to have him ranked a bit lower in your rankings, and some have him in the top 10. I was thinking he might be steal in the later rounds over guys like Keller, Gonzalez, and Celek. Do you think the expectations should be lower on him?

Ray, I have a baseball question also. Someone just dropped Marcum and I considering claiming him off of waivers. My league uses K/9 instead of K’s. The pitcher I would drop would be Mike Minor. Minor has been great in every category lately except K/9. Would you suggest making the move or sitting tight with Minor the rest of the way? The rest off my staff is Strasburg, Matt Moore, Josh Johnson, Brandon Morrow, and Yovani Gallardo. Strasburg is my keeper so I can’t drop him even with the shutdown looming.

Matt K – Wilson was too good early, too cold of late. Overall his performance has pretty much been the same as the last two years. He just hasn’t been very consistent. It would be hard to start him against the Sox given his recent work..
I’d drop Milone from this group.

Jon – Gresham could improve, but I dont see how he vaults up the rankings. The Bengals just dont have an explosive offense, other then Green, and I’m not sure that Dalton can improve that much in year 2.
The ADP numbers from NFFC, in 12 team lgs, have him the #12 TE one spot ahead of Celek and two behind Gonzo. I dont know how he’s going to fall given the thoughts of most.

Jon – How on earth could you drop Minor, Jon? The guy has a 2.22 ERA and 0.94 WHIP over his last seven starts.
