    Ray,
Just got a trade offer in my 12 team PPR league. I’d get A.Rodgers/Spiller for McCoy/Colston/Ingram?

I thought about countering that. My team is listed below. His other WR’s are: Cruz, A.Johnson, Lloyd, Garcon and he has Bradshaw at RB

    My team:
    QB: Cutler
RB’s: Rice, McCoy, MJD, Ry Williams, D. Wilson, Ingram
WR: Colston, Decker, LaFell, Amendola, L. Robinson, K. Wright
    TE: Gresham, Rudolph

    Thanks

    Daniel – I’d get A.Rodgers/Spiller for McCoy/Colston/Ingram

Cutler is a passable 12 team QB, but big improvement obviously.
Spiller should be a top-15 RB while FJax is out. However, what happens when he returns?
Also, your WR corps is relatively weak. I can’t suggest you move Colston leaving you with only one top-25 WR option (Decker).

    You will have to pass.

    ray –

appreciate the sage advice throughout the baseball year. Ive made it to the Semi Finals (h2h weekly), 6×6 – ops, holds league…

    Question:
if you are looking for all around 6×6 stats — which of these 6 guys to fill 3 OF + 1 CI — would you roll with? I keep going back and forth, so wanted your take:

    OF — choose 3
    1. (OF) Dayan Viciedo (7 games – 5 rhp, 2 lhp) – been slumping until today, like full schedule next week. He crushes lefties, meh vs. righties.
    2. (OF) Colby Rasmus (6 games; 3 lhp, 3 rhp) – awful versus lefties, but plays @NY for 3 = short porch.
    3. (OF) Justin Maxwell (6 games; 4 rhp, 2 lhp) – en fuego. Poop avg., can I trust him on biggest stage?
    4. (OF) Starling Marte (7 games; 5 rhp, 1 lhp) – platooning still? Had a nice weekend, maybe getting healthy again?

    CI — choose 1
    5. (CI) Ike Davis (6 games; 3 rhp, 3 lhp) – all at home, where he’s been horrible. Dont like that hes got Lee, Hamels and Buerhle + Duda in mix too.
    6. (CI) Matt Carpenter (6 games; 4 rhp, 2 lhp) – platooning still? He’s played 5 of last 6 and STL finding a way to get at bats. Like Maxwell, do I trust him?

    appreciate the take and advice.

    thx,
    - el burro

    Ray

Can fantasy owners, many of which who are in their championships this week, count on me in weekly lineups? Or should they play it safe and bench me?

  16. By Ray Flowers on Sep 17, 2012

Clayton K – I don’t think I would trust you this week. Seems like that hip of yours is a real issue. In fact, you might need (hip) might need surgery, might not be ready until May 2013.

    Hey Ray,

Playoff week- I have 3 moves per week and already used one picking up Travis Wood with his 2 start week. Do you recommend me dropping Avila(out today sore jaw) and picking up Rosario which would leave me with 1 add the rest of the week for a spot starter? My 2 start pitchers this week are dickey, fister, scherzer, wood. He just has Kennedy going for 2 this week.

    Thanks Ray

El burro – Tough outfield in mixed league. Viciedo, Masxwell, Rasmus.

CI – Carpenter. Ike D is all up and down, all over the place, and more likely to lay an egg than Carpenter.

Good luck this week. It’s all down to this !

Whats up Ray ? Im in the finals for my baseball league. I have been playing espinoza at 2b but it looks like he is out for at least half of the week . My options of of the ww are Uggla , G Beckham , Forsythe , or Chris Nelson. Any advice ? Ray just wanted to add that it is head to head points system and we get – 1 for K’s. Thanks for the help this year

  20. By Ray Flowers on Sep 17, 2012

Bigs – I wrote about Uggla today: http://baseballguys.com/2012/09/17/fun-with-numbers/

If it was me, I’d add Forsythe. He’s been killing it of late – .412 in Sept. He’s not contact adverse either.

  21. By Scott on Sep 17, 2012

Is Dewayne Wise going to be in the lineup for the rest of the year? What do you think about sitting Bourn for Wise the rest of the year? I was going to add AJ Griffin for the final run. Who do you like better out of Nolasco,Kendrick,Wood,Guthrie for the other spot?

  22. By Ray Flowers on Sep 17, 2012

Scott – Wise has about 80 percent of the talent of Bourne. Of course, he has outperformed Bourne the last month. I have a hard time bailing on Bourn> I wouldn’t, but I understand why you would.

On the hill, I’d take Griffin over Wood.
