HOW DO YOU GET YOUR COPY?

So how do you get this whopper of a deal? There are two easy ways for you to get the more than 145 pages of data for the 2013 season (it’s actually way more than that when you add in the rankings).

OPTION #1Thanks to a partnership with Fanduel.com, you can get your copy of the 2013 BBGUYS Fantasy Baseball Draft Guide for just $10 (don’t forget that last year the $8 Guide was only 55 pages long). So for $2 more than last year’s Guide you not only get more than 90 pages over what you got last year, you also get FREE money at Fanduel.com. What am I talking about? When you follow the below link to Fanduel.com you will be taken to a sign-up page. Simply sign up with the site for $10. When you do you will receive two things.

The BaseballGuys.com Draft Guide.
$10 FREE dollars to spend at Fanduel.com.

So not only do you get the Draft Guide you also get $20 dollars to spend at Fanduel.com (your deposit and the FREE $10 Fanduel.com is giving you. Please note, if you DO NOT follow the link below, it could take several days for you to receive the draft guide).

CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE THE GUIDE FOR $10.

(You can have a Fanduel account already in existence and be eligible for the $10 deal, but if you have ever deposited $ into it then you are ineligible for the $10 deal. In this instance the only way to obtain the Guide would be to order it through the BaseballGuys website for $14.95)

ALSO… make sure the promo code BBGUYS is in the promo code box. It needs to manually be entered if you are ordering from your phone.

For those of you that don’t know what Fanduel.com does here is brief primer. Fanduel.com is a daily salary cap fantasy game. You go to Fanduel.com, select a lineup for that day only, and then play it out. You can do this as many times a day you as like keeping the same lineup if you like or changing it with every entry. When you win the daily league, and I’m sure you will win given the advice you are about to unlock with the Draft Guide, you win REAL MONEY from Fanduel.com.

So you can look at this option two ways.

A) You spend $10 to play games at Fanduel.com and get a FREE Draft Guide.
B) You spend $10 to buy the Draft Guide and get $10 FREE to spend at Fanduel.com.

Talk about a win-win.

OPTION #2 – If you prefer to purchase The Guide without the bonus’ that Fanduel is offering there is another avenue you can take.

On the right hand side of the BaseballGuys page, near the top, is a YELLOW DONATE tab. Simply click on the tab, donate $14.95 through Paypal, and The Guide will be on it’s way to you within hours.

Not enough of a deal to entice you? How about this added little bonus (I feel like someone on an infomercial).

Everyone that purchases The Guide will be able to get one free update of the player rankings (this counts whether you go through Fanduel or through BaseballGuys directly). Get The Guide now, study it, take in all it has to offer. If you’d like up updated version of the rankings at any point – and the rankings are updated on a daily basis as needed – here is what you will need to do.

(1) Send me an email at fantasyfandom@yahoo.com.

(2) The email should include a copy of your receipt from PayPal or Fanduel. I’ll then send you a file with the updated player rankings right up until Opening Day.

How much better is that than going to the store to buy a magazine that was printed six weeks ago and is stale by the time your draft gets underway?

One final note. I know some of you might balk at having to pay for The Draft Guide. However, if you follow my work at BaseballGuys.com you will know that everything I do here is entirely free. So don’t just think of it as you’re buying an $10 or $14.95 Draft Guide. Think of the investment that includes a year long subscription with it as well – yet another bonus you will received for being a loyal follower of BaseballGuys.com (you should also be following the BaseballGuys’ Twitter account).

TESTIMONIALS

Here are some responses from those that purchased The Guide in 2012.

The BaseballGuys Draft guide is so Amazing I had to take the afternoon off of work to finish reading it. – @AndyNelson97

First time donating to you and this Baseball Guide is brain-candy for analytic minds. – @DaveE926

Ray & draft guide are full of it…Full of enough tips, tricks, and rankings with updates in the future to take me to the top. – @achiabotta

I won my league last year with Ray’s draft guide and advice. If you think $8 is to much? Let me tell you it is super cheap for what you get in return. – Jamie

How dare you charge $8 for your draft guide??? should be at least $18 – @rotoexpertMRath.

I am a returning member and support The Oracle & The Fantasy DRIVE on Sirius. Two years ago the Guide was $3 (I would have paid $15). Which means $8 is a complete value and will help me win three separate titles. – Scott

I sent the $8 donation to @BaseballGuys just for how accessible he is on twitter. – @AlZeidenfeld

Wanted to thank you for all your help this season, answering every question I had. I ended up winning my H2H league yesterday. Key picks taken from your draft guide: Edwin Encarnacion, Alejandro De Aza, Kenley Jansen (let everyone else fight for J. Guerra) and Paul Goldschmidt. Your draft guide also enabled me to focus on the better arms specifically in relief over the people who were named closers to start the season. Anyway, all your hard work and time you put in every single day of the season helped me win a championship. Also learned a big lesson this year how to look beyond the basic stats of a player to determine value. Thanks Again  – Joe M

does the FanDuel deal work if you already have a FanDuel account, can you just deposit $10 into your account? Or is this for new signups only?

  8. By Ray Flowers on Feb 1, 2013

Dave – Can have a Fanduel acct and get the Guide that route, but if you have ever deposited $ into it then you are ineligible for $10 deal. Sorry bout that.

  9. By Polo on Feb 1, 2013

Ok here’s a question(maybe a silly one)- which option will I get the guide faster?

  10. By Brian from Idaho on Feb 1, 2013

    Cant wait Ray, thank u

  11. By Ray Flowers on Feb 1, 2013

Polo – No matter which way you order it, little old me still has to send out every single copy. Will likely take a couple of hours depending on when you order it. You will get it by the end of the day for sure.

  12. By Cory on Feb 1, 2013

This is the best guide out there. No reason to look any further! Thank you, Ray.

  13. By Steve Davis on Feb 1, 2013

Bought the guide last year and it was by far the best one out there. Tons of useful information even for those who think they know everything. Won both my leagues between the guide, following your Sirius XM Fantasy Show and twitter. About to get the 2013 Guide now. There’s not a better baseball mind out there. Thanks for everything!

  14. By Rudy Quinonez on Feb 1, 2013

This is definately the best guide, especially because of the expertise and it is so up to date. I didnt get one until midseason last year but it helped fuel me to win both leagues I was playing, in my first year. Thank you 10 times, Ray, U do great work!

  15. By Chad P on Feb 1, 2013

How can you go wrong with the $10 Fan Duel choice. Turn the $20 into hundreds. Thanks for the hard work!

  16. By Jason on Feb 1, 2013

I bought the guide last year, and I took 3 teams to championships… and lost all 3! Maybe all I needed was a bigger guide from the Almighty Ray! Well, now that wish has come to fruition…

This is a great guide, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

Thanks for all you do, Ray!

  17. By craig on Feb 1, 2013

paypal sent, won my league two years in a row, going for the three-peat this year thanks to your advice! I’m glad the other guys in the league don’t know who you are.

  18. By Joe M on Feb 1, 2013

Just picked up the new guide, Ray. With this and your twitter feed I should win it all again this year. Can’t wait to sit down, pour a redbull and vodka, and go through this guide tonight!!

  19. By Polka on Feb 1, 2013

    Ray,
It’s the best $8 I ever spent…waiting on my co-worker to run a new ink cartridge over to my new jobsite to print this bitch off on the Postal dime:)

  20. By Mike on Feb 1, 2013

    Hi Ray
Sent payment earlier today for guide through paypal. looks like check sent takes a few days to get to you . I assume you will wait for check to arrive/clear before guide is sent , just please verify.
    Thx
    Mike

  21. By Ryan on Feb 1, 2013

Yo Ray, sounds like this is real deal. Signed up for Fanduel today, how do I go about getting the guide?

  22. By Ray Flowers on Feb 1, 2013

Ryan – Will be emailed to you in 4-6 hours. If not by then, send me a follow up note.
    Also, check your spam folder.

  23. By Joel on Feb 1, 2013

Will the guide be as beneficial if you are in a points league (H2H)?

  24. By Ray Flowers on Feb 1, 2013

Joel – The overwhelming majority, I mean like 95 percent of it, just speaks to players and evaluating them (it doesn’t matter how your lg scores players, this guide will help you). The actual rankings, that five percent, are geared toward roto leagues, but even then they would still serve as as a great foundation cause most players don’t move that much – though some obviously do.

  25. By Darryl on Feb 1, 2013

    Hi Ray,

Thanks for the hard work – great show.

    Go Niners!

  26. By Rex Weddle on Feb 1, 2013

Ray, love the 14.95 price point!! I’m in and waiting with uncharacteristic patience for it.

    Rex

  27. By Rex Weddle on Feb 1, 2013

………..and note, from the Paypal receipt, that my wife pays for all my fantasy sports investment, a practice recommended for all your followers.

  28. By Ray Flowers on Feb 1, 2013

Rex Weddle – Thanks for the support my friend. Really appreciate it. Also, I knew you were a smart guy… behind every great man (other than me – lol) is a great woman…

  29. By Rick on Feb 1, 2013

I am all in on the 2013 Baseball Guide, Ray. Listen to the Drive on SiriusXM each day. You have convinced me you know what you are talking about and the dedication to your craft is amazing. Thanks for the help, going to get those championships this season.

  30. By joebagels on Feb 1, 2013

Hey Ray I have a fan duel account but never deposited money (though I did win some money from free rolls), when I go to the site to do it there is no deposit code and it says If I deposit $10 I get a $5 bonus…. Do I just add the $10 via paypal there anyway? How would you know that I did it through your bonus code??

  31. By Ray Flowers on Feb 1, 2013

JoeBagels- If you aren’t able to add the Guide directly through the $10 link in the article, then I would suggest you talk to FanDuel’s customer service department before proceeding. I don’t work for Fanduel, and certainly don’t speak for them, so it’s better to go directly to the source so that I don’t tell you something that is in error.

  32. By joebagels on Feb 1, 2013

OK thanks, i’ll try and contact them or I may just add a a new account…

  33. By jwags on Feb 1, 2013

Hope the fan duel deal doesn’t become a big ordeal for you, Ray! I just registered at FD, and there weren’t any links related to your draft guide. Same deal as joebagels ($10 buy-in and $5 promo funds). Your guide is why I registered, so hopefully it works out. Quick question for you: what are your thoughts on not allowing draft software for a 10-yr old auction league? Seems like half our league uses software, and most use the same one. Seems to take away from some of the fun IMO. Thoughts?

  34. By Benny on Feb 1, 2013

So is there a biased against head-to-head in this guide? I’m in a H2H league, I want to make sure I’m not waisting money or time on something that is geared towards a different style of fantasy baseball then how I play. Thanks

  35. By Ray Flowers on Feb 2, 2013

Jawgs – Did it work out for you with Fanduel? People were still able to purchase the guide with no issues after the time you posted here, so hopefully your situation was able to work out. You did click on teh link listed in the article, right?

    http://www.fanduel.com/BaseballGuys?p=BBGUYS&btag=a_2134b_449c_

Click on the green tab on the left side and you should be good to go.

I never use software, but it’s kinda like this – do you want to wear a cup when you play or not? Everyone should use one, but you can’t make people use them. Conversely, you can’t make someone not use one. Ditto with draft software.

  36. By Ray Flowers on Feb 2, 2013

Benny – There is no bias against H2H. I don’t like it. It should be left for football. Period. But 98% of this Guide applies to everyone. It’s about evaluating players way more so than it is any league setup. Regardless, even if you use H2H, it’s still the same player and you’re still looking at the same things. The rankings are roto and not points, so if you are in H2H roto you are golden. If you are h2h pts the guide is still 98% right for you though some of the rankings would have to be tweaked.

  37. By Ryan on Feb 2, 2013

Hey again Ray, still no dice on the guide. Should I send you my Paypal receipt? Whatever you need let me know, thanks!

  38. By Joel on Feb 2, 2013

Hi guys, I think I may have found the issue. If you login on a mobile device that green button is hidden, so I just used the “join” link at the top. Looks like that green button is important, as it puts in the promo code. I have a note out to FanDuel support and will post their response. Hope it all works out…

  39. By Ray Flowers on Feb 2, 2013

Ryan – yes, please send me the receipt and we’ll get ya taken care of.

  40. By Joel on Feb 2, 2013

FanDuel support is fast! Their response is below. Basically if you screwed up like ma and didn’t use the right link: promo code, just email FanDuel and they will fix it. If you haven’t joined yet, make sure to use promo code BBGuys or click on the green button after going through Ray’s link. Hope I saved a few of you the hassle!

“Thanks for submitting a support ticket. I’ve gone ahead and manually added the promocode and someone from BBGUYS should be contacting you within the next 48 hours regarding your Draft Guide. Thanks for your patience and please let us know if you have any other questions.”

  41. By Fish on Feb 2, 2013

Went the direct route 30 minutes ago and already got my guide. That was fast! Thanks Ray.
(and you’re welcome for the extra support. You earn it every day!)
    Fish

  42. By Polo on Feb 2, 2013

My guide was there less than 30 mins!

I’ve read a quarter of the guide & Ray has done an excellent job. Will read the rest during lunch time. Probably will read it again on my way to Atlantic City tomorrow lol

If u don’t have the guide, you should get it ASAP. It’s worth it

  43. By Doug on Feb 2, 2013

Ray, awesome job on the guide. In last year’s guide you listed a few prospects that were under 20 years old that you really liked. The list included Taveras Bogaerts Bell Baez and some others. Do you have a few players that you would put in a similar category? Implemented a minor league system in our league a few years ago. Got to jump in them early to get the good players. Thank you in advance.

  44. By Dave on Feb 2, 2013

Highly recommend the guide to anyone debating whether or not to pull the trigger. First, you have to be insanely cheap if you can’t cough up less than $15 so Ray can eat.

It was delivered within 30 minutes, even though I ordered while Ray was on air. Impressive stuff.

After I put my boy down last night I thought I’d flip thru and see what the 2013 guide would provide. 4 hours later it was 1 A.M. It’s that good.

    Dave

  45. By Ray Flowers on Feb 2, 2013

Doug – Thanks for the support. Glad you like the Guide.

I have a big section in the Guide covering rookies – nine pages – lots of my thoughts in there.
The under 20 thing you mentioned from last year, sure that was me? I don’t remember doing that in the Guide of ’12.

  46. By Andy on Feb 3, 2013

I bought the guide on Friday, and I have to say it’s awesome! Thank you Ray for all of the help you provide throughout the whole season.

I have one keeper question. I will be keeping Posey, A.Gonzalez, Cano, H. Ramirez,R.Zimmerman, Braun,Ellsbury, and Kershaw. I can keep two from the group of CC Sabathia,Motte, and Latos. I also have the #3 pick in the draft. Some players that I can get in the draft are James Shields, Aramis Ramirez, Rafael Soriano, and of course the guy I don’t keep. I’m not sure who to keep and who to draft there. I talked to the guy who has the #1 pick and he said he will not be taking any of these guys. He is taking Olt. Not sure if he will stick with that though. Which two do you think I should keep, and which of these players would you target to draft? Thanks.

  47. By Dave on Feb 3, 2013

I have ordered the guide the last 2 years. And has made my preparations for draft day a whole lot easier. Ray has done all the work. Now I don’t have to spend hours doing the work Ray has done. If you look at what these other sites and magazines are putting out there. You will see that Ray has taken it even further with his analysis. If you don’t have lots of time to do the homework. Then Rays Guide is the way to go. You might use one of the websites to get your info. And you will get what you pay for. Nothing !!!

  48. By Ray Flowers on Feb 3, 2013

Andy – Glad you’re enjoying the Guide.

Obviously you keep a good deal of players. Cause of that, holding Motte is fine. I’d also hold Latos cause of his age edge over CC.

I’d go Shields if you want an arm, but Aramis is also solid and is likely the better option given all the keepers – you don’t want to held out of it at 3B.

  49. By Ryan on Feb 3, 2013

    Ray,
Checking in to see when my guide will come. I paid early this morning. Can’t wait. Also, quick keeper question. I can keep 3, I’m keeping cargo and J. Upton. You advised earlier this week for me to keep Harper as my third, but I left out that I also had Castro. Who should I keep, Bryce or Starlin?
Thanks in advance and I can’t wait to read your guide!
    Ryan

  50. By Ray Flowers on Feb 3, 2013

Ryan – Usually 3-4 hours unless really early or late. All Guides that have been ordered have been delivered. Check your SPAM folder. Did you order through the site or Fanduel? If through Fanduel, did you sign up through link in article? If you used your phone, it will likely to take a couple of days.

I’d still keep Harper over Castro. His future is just higher with his massive power.

  51. By Ryan on Feb 3, 2013

I used my IPad through the link and confirmed through Scott in customer service at Fan Duel. I’ll wait a couple days and see what happens. Nothing in Spam folder. Thanks for advice on Harper
    Ryam

  52. By Ray Flowers on Feb 3, 2013

Ryan – Good deal. I usually get one update a day from Fanduel on those orders that somehow slipped through the cracks. Get back to me Monday night if you still haven’t gotten the Guide.

  53. By Sean on Feb 4, 2013

    Ray,

I deposited on FanDuel on Friday using the link given, and I keep waiting to see my guide so I can start reading it! Is there someone I can email or message to make sure I get it? Thanks!

  54. By Mike on Feb 4, 2013

    hi Ray

Just heads up my pay pal check 15.00 for guide has been taken out of my checking acct on my end. Not sure when it hits your acct.
    Look forward to the guide
    Thx
    Mike

  55. By Ray Flowers on Feb 4, 2013

Sean – Did you have a pre-existing account with Fanduel? (If you did you wouldn’t be sent to be via the standard method so it will likely take like 24 hours for Fanduel to notify me – only those that signef up for the first time are names I’m able to access immediately).

Did you check your Spam Folder?

Did you order from the link in the article?

    http://www.fanduel.com/BaseballGuys?p=BBGUYS&btag=a_2134b_449c_

Looks like you did something diff. I’m going to have to wait for Fanduel to get back to me becuase your order isn’t coming up through normal channels.

If you dont hear from me today, send me another note tomm.

Did you order on your phone? Seems like there is an issue with phone orders. One user posted this –

FanDuel support is fast! Their response is below. Basically if you screwed up like me and didn’t use the right link: promo code, just email FanDuel and they will fix it.

  56. By jeff on Feb 4, 2013

    Good Morning Ray

I have a keeper question for you. I am in a 14 team roto league. I can only keep 2 players.

Vamrt in the 17th round, Rois in the 18th round, Craig in the 24th round or Soriano in the 24th round.

If I take Craig and Soriano I would give up 23rd and 24th round pick.
I am thinking Vmart and Criag.

  57. By Ray Flowers on Feb 4, 2013

Jeff – If it was me, I’d have to go Vmart especially if I had two starting catchers. For the second set… I’d be surprised if Rios didn’t outperform Craig in fantasy, but I’d also say going Craig makes a lot of sense given that his cost is cheaper. I’d still go Rios for the all-around game though.

  58. By Joe M on Feb 4, 2013

Nice promo with FanDuel. Done and thank you

  59. By godfather on Feb 4, 2013

Love your work, Ray, and this is the late, great evidence of it (even if you like girls better than you do women: I mean, Kunis vs. Lane…oh, wait,, I’m 79 — but would have said the same thing at 19…take a ballbreak and watch “Unfaithful”). Seriously, this is sound stuff, and your creation of ABA/SWIP is shorthand evidence of your incisive work. I might even get Sirius about this stuff (online). One more thing: For a promo of your Guide, how about “Say it with Flowers”? I’m off to mourn the first-and-five failure in New Orleans.

  60. By Ray Flowers on Feb 4, 2013

Godfather – Diane Lane is one attractive woman, period. If she called me up and wanted to have a drink, I certainly wouldn’t say no. Ms. Kunis is just sexier… though her laugh is a bit annoying.

Glad you liked ABA/SWIP in The Draft Guide.

I’ll look into the promo suggesting. Was a rough loss for the Niners no doubt.

  61. By ken on Feb 4, 2013

Ray first year in nfbc….insights appreciated. 50 rounds…. next pick zobrist, a gonzalez headley? gor pujios and pedroia. Tx ken… love the draft guide

  62. By Ray Flowers on Feb 5, 2013

Ken – Headley would be third, Zobrist second, AGone first. Gonzalez was one hit from .300-100, and he should get back over 20 HRs this year. Zobrist is an option too with his well rounded game and three position elig.

  63. By Andy on Feb 5, 2013

I posted on feb. 3rd before. I asked about who to pick, Motte, Sabathia, or Latos. I’m leaning towards keeping CC. If I do that I’m pretty sure that Motte will fall to me at the #3 pick. I would then probably be left with a choice of Motte, Shields, or Aramis Ramirez for the #3 pick. What do you think of that, and who would you go with on the #3 pick? For me it would be tempting to go with Shields. I would then have an unreal rotation of Kershaw, Latos, Sabathia, and Shields.

  64. By Ray Flowers on Feb 6, 2013

Andy – So when I gave you advice, you just chose to turn away from all of it and do the exact opposite by taking the last of the players I said I’d want? Of course you are free to do that, but odd you would ask me a follow up about the same thing after seemingly ignoring all of my advice in your previous question.

  65. By Andy on Feb 6, 2013

Sorry about that Ray. I’ve just been a fan of CC’s, so it’s hard for me to go away from him. His elbow and arm do concern me. I know you have motte in the top closer tier, but i thought cc was pretty close in value with motte because of their $ values. I’ll be going with your advice. I’m trying to trade cc for a 1st round pick. If I do that then I’ll get another good player for him.

  66. By Ray Flowers on Feb 6, 2013

Andy – If you want to go CC over Motte, I get that. I just wouldn’t go CC over Shields or Latos in a keeper.

Hey Ray, I just added $10 to Fanduel so I could get your draft guide and the bonus $10, but the site is showing only $5 bonus and I don’t see anything saying the draft guide is on its way. Help?

  68. By Ray Flowers on Feb 7, 2013

Adam – Did you click on the link located in the article above? It takes you directly to the right spot, includes the promo code and everything. If you didn’t follow those instructions, it’s gonna take 24 hours to locate your name in the database etc. You can email me at fantasyfandom@yahoo.com

  69. By Rick on Feb 7, 2013

Put me down for Diane Lane, anytime, anywhere. Learning from the guide this year, thanks for the hard work.

  70. By Adam on Feb 8, 2013

Thanks for the response, I contacted Fanduel and they said that it is only for first time clients, not existing accounts. They allowed me to delete the $10 addition. I then donated the $14.95 to this site, which will send me the draft guide right?

  71. By Ray Flowers on Feb 8, 2013

Adam – It’s right here in the article:

(You can have a Fanduel account already in existence and be eligible for the $10 deal, but if you have ever deposited $ into it then you are ineligible for the $10 deal. In this instance the only way to obtain the Guide would be to order it through the BaseballGuys website for $14.95)

If you donated to BBGuys, you should have it by now. All have been sent. Check your spam folder. If you haven’t got it, send me a copy of your receipt at fantasyfandom@yahoo.com

Feel like a kid in the candy store. Ray’s fantasy baseball guide is out for 2013!! Awesome!

  73. By Joel on Feb 8, 2013

Ray, Great draft guide! I have a question: we’re in a tiered keeper league where we keep 1 player in each of 4 tiers based on where a player was drafted the year before. 6×6, H2H. In my third tier, I have the following three players to choose from: Danny Espinosa, Moustakas, and Markakis. (my other three keppers are Posey, Country Breakfast and Austin Jackson). So, out of those three Tier 3 options, who do u think is the best overall pick to keep for this year coming up? THANKS!

  74. By Ryan on Feb 8, 2013

I am about to purchase the fanguide but have 1 question before I do. Did you do the rankings like last year? Meaning Group A, Group B and so forth? Or did you rank them traditionally 1-50 and so forth? I like the group better it gives a better perspective imo.

  75. By Ray Flowers on Feb 9, 2013

Joel – Glad you are enjoying the Guide.

I would go with Markakis. He’s boring, but man is he stable across the board. With health, should bounce back well. Espinosa has that injured wing, and Moose was atrocious in the second half and has big holes in his game right now.

  76. By Ray Flowers on Feb 9, 2013

Ryan – I rank the player the same way I did last year, which is both. There is the traditional 1-50 type of thing AND there is the tiering which I think must be what you are referring to.

  77. By Luke on Feb 9, 2013

Hey Ray, I had a follow up question about the new dynasty league that I asked to about the other day ( concerning which 2 cat to add for 6×6). I listen to your radio show daily and love baseballguys.com. 12 team dynasty with 35 man rosters and 25 keepers with unlimited years. I, like yourself, always wait on pitching, usually until at least 5th round. I’m wondering if I should stay on board with my normal strategy. I have the 10th pick in the snake and am leaning toward taking the plunge on a top level starter on the way back. Considering the format should I stick to my normal route of waiting on pitching or get myself one of the top-end young guys (Kershaw /Strasburg) for the forseeable future. I’m guessing roughly 10 SP will be gone by the time I get my third pick. Thanks again you rawk!

  78. By Ray Flowers on Feb 9, 2013

Luke – Thanks for the support. Always to hear when people appreciate what you do.

I would not take an SP early in a re-draft. However, if this is a dynasty league, rules change. I’d still have a hard time going SP in first round, OK I wouldn’t do it, but I could understand going a bit early on SPs given your setup. One pitch can run two seasons, if a guy needs TJ or something, but it’s also nice to have that horse to build around – I’d rather have Kershaw over Strasburg in this setup.

Niles Seyler – Interesting way to to if for sure. Innovation is nice.

  81. By Andrew on Feb 10, 2013

Ray–bothered u about this last year, so figured i’d ask again. Im in a “2 MLB team” league where u draft 2 whole MLB teams and use those teams’ players to comprise your team. Last year finished 3rd w/ Washington Braves. At end of year, we keep one team and i kept the Nats. We r now drafting our second team. My choices are (brace yourself): Mets, Cubs, Twin, Astros. It’s a 6×6 league (hits and holds). What do you think? Thanks, Andrew

  82. By david on Feb 10, 2013

ray, you crushed it with your draft guide this year. shandler level. awesome job.

12-team mixed 5×5 keeper question: i can hold onto 2 of these 4….
beltran, carlos gomez, dan haren, kyle seager. all would have three year contracts going forward. (fyi, i already have scherzer, weaver and yadler molina kept.) thanks for your help.

  83. By Ray Flowers on Feb 11, 2013

Andrew – Not great options, but I would go with Twins. Potentially three elite hitters, solid bullpen.

  84. By Ray Flowers on Feb 11, 2013

David – Thanks for the kind words. Always try to put my best foot forward.

Don’t love any of your options here. Beltran is too old to go three years in my book. I’d also be a bit nervous about going three with Haren. Not a huge fan of Gomez and a repeat. Seager solid, but never will be elite. I’d go Seager for sure. 2nd? Probably Gomez since you have two hurlers already, but honestly, it’s a BIG risk cause Gomez has a spotty skill set. Haren/Beltran are just old to give three year deals to is all.

  85. By Andrew on Feb 11, 2013

Ray…thanks for the info….was actually leaning cubs bc thought they’re rotation looked better (I know there are injury concerns) and I would have Castro and rizzo. I can see ur points but could u elaborate more on twins rotation? Thanks

  86. By Ray Flowers on Feb 11, 2013

Andrew – I mistyped. Should have read bullpen. You were correct to guess about why I would think the Twins have a good rotation – it’s spotty as get out. Cubs are solid – in a few spots. What happens if Garza is traded, do you get to keep him anyway?

  87. By Andrew on Feb 11, 2013

No, we have to follow keep the rosters updated. So if garza gets traded, I would lose him. Was also looking at “holes” in the Nats lineup and what team fills those best. Mauer would obv help there. Last year I ran almost every starter out there daily for Washington and Atlanta and I blew ppl away in counting categories. Don’t think I could do that for the twins, hence my concern. also this is a head to head league if that changes ur mind. Still thinking twins?

  88. By Ray Flowers on Feb 11, 2013

Andrew – If you lose a traded player, makes it even tougher. I’ve never done a lg like this. It’s hard enough to breakdown a single player. Trying to do it for an entire club is full of difficulty.

    Bourn to Cubs possible? https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/301116135884075009

  89. By Craig N on Feb 11, 2013

    Hello Ray,

4×4 al only keeper auction 260 cap….I am offered d jennigs at 16 and mach ado at 13 for Cespedes at 17…should I do it?

  90. By Ray Flowers on Feb 11, 2013

Craig N – In a keeper league, I’d totally do the deal to get Jennings and Machado. Big time value in AL only.

  91. By Jeff Hansen on Feb 16, 2013

Ray – I bought the draft guide today. After listening to you and Kyle many times on SiriusXM radio I was expecting a lot. It far exceeded my expectations. Great stuff! My friends and I have never done an auction draft so we decided to put together a very small 8 team NL only league. $260 – at the end of the auction everyone must end up with C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, IF, OF, OF, OF, OF, UTL, and 9 pithcers. Your draft guide auction values are based on a 12 team league. As a general rule of thumb, going from a 12 team league to an 8 team league would you increase or decrease your estimated auction values? Thanks in advance. – Jeff

  92. By Ray Flowers on Feb 16, 2013

Jeff Hansen – Glad it’s meeting your expectations my friend.

12 tm lg. 23 man rosters of active players (seven reserve rounds) = 360 players rostered.
only 276 you pay for though (reserve rounds dont cost $).

If you go to 8 teams, 30 man rosters = 240 players BUT only 184 are paid players. 184/276 = 67%.
That means you can bump player values by 33%.

You still only have $260, so don’t go spending $60 each on Braun and Kemp.

  93. By Brian on Feb 18, 2013

    Ray,
Does your draft guide include tier rankings?

  94. By Ray Flowers on Feb 18, 2013

Brian – Yes, just like last year each position has dollar values AND tiering.

  95. By Jeff A on Mar 4, 2013

    Ray,

Listen to your show all the time. Great stuff! Just purchased the Fantasy Baseball guide this morning (4 hours ago). Still haven’t received it in my email…Checked the spam and didn’t see it there either. The new fan duel account i created says that my free $10 is pending. Maybe im just not patient enough..wait for it …wait for it…just wanted to make sure i didn’t miss out on the guide..it sounds great and i don’t think anyone in my league knows about it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you.

  113. By Tom on Mar 18, 2013

Ray, I’m in a 9 team AL only auction league. We just submitted our keeper list this weekend. When the the rosters were being entered into the CBS website, my V. Martinez could only be entered as DH not C. I kept him at $3. Is he still a keeper as a DH now? He will qualify after 2 games played at catcher. Thanks as always for your advice.

    Tom

  114. By Ray Flowers on Mar 18, 2013

Tom – He is worth holding at $3, but I think he should be a catcher this season (VMART). CBS allows you to make the change right now:

Ray, Thank you for the link. I just want to let you know that sportsmanship still exists. When our commish emailed out everyone’s keeper list, he was bombarded with emails from many of the other owners stating VMart should be a catcher. I’m fortunate to be in a league with so many quality owners.

Once again, thanks for your advice. I’m looking for another top finish with your guidance.
